The Mississippi River was not yet frozen on this winter day as the Christmas colors of the Grain Belt Beer sign and the Hennepin Avenue Bridge were reflected on its glassy surface.
On December 14th, the Lowry Avenue bridge was lit red to celebrate the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Day.
The wind was completely absent on this "air advisory" day in downtown Minneapolis resulting in a nearly perfect mirror of the city skyline and Hennepin Avenue bridge.
